HELMET SUPPORT
Instead of running all over the country playing shows to promote our new record as we would have done in the past, we decided to do the opposite for BAROC. Sometimes it's best just to wait these things out, and that's exactly what we've been doing. Hiding out, and writing a new album. But that's about to change as we come out of hiding to help out American up and comers Helmet. Needless to say we are gnashing at the teeth to play with these guys. Also playing the shows will be The Nation Blue who also have a new record out. Get it, and get ours! We've also got a few other shows in the pipeline including a spot at the Come Together Festival at Luna Park in Sydney. For a full list of shows check out th gigs page. Other than that, we've been really excited by the interest and reviews we've been receiving for Baroc, but possibly a little more excited by some of the new material we've been busting out. We'll be playing quite a few new tunes at our next run of shows, so come down and check them out, and buy our record!

'BAROC' press brief...
BAROC is the title of Melbourne 3-piece BLACKLEVEL EMBASSY's debut album. It
is derived from the word 'baroque', a description of one of history's most brutal
and dramatic periods of art-making and culture.
Recorded in the depths of Chicago's harshest winter in 50 years, at world renowned
Electrical Audio and SOMA studios, BAROC is a documentation of a band writing
and recording music in an unapologetically fearless and uncompromising manner.
Guitar, Bass and Drums are the basic tools upon which extremes of dense chords
and strategic rhythms are layered. Vocals are stretched between moments of ferocity
and vulnerability whilst in between exists a delicacy of captured sound that
highlights the band's depth of playing and performance.
Blacklevel Embassy employed the expertise of independent engineer and musician
Bob Weston to capture the urgent reconfigured rock sound of 90's Chicago and
D.C. bands. It is this characteristic live analogue approach, equal parts raw
power and sonic intricacy, which propel the 10 songs that form the album.
Chatterbox Records. Out February 10th 2007!
"...From the scorching blast of opener "Their Own Stars" to the
flickering embers of piano-work and soft vocals on "Closing Comment,"
Baroc burns brighter than a cluster of stars and is built to outlast them all.
9/10". Blunt Magazine
In other news, we've stumbled upon a healthy rate of production with our writing
at the moment. Expect to hear a whole bunch of new stuff at upcoming
shows. We've also got a new clip in the pipeline.

'BAROC'
We are happy to announce the release on February 10 of our long player debut
titled 'BAROC'. Just when we thought this record was heading into a Chinese
Democracy style delay of release, we were finally victorious in our best of
3 tag team wrestling series with the folk at Chatterbox
Records, forcing them to honour their drunken comittment to release our
record. You may have noticed a slight update to the look of the site, now featuring
elements of the 6 panel artwork produced by our very own Adam Cooper for the
album. Other little changes includes a bunch of additions to the downloads
page, including track samples from the forthcoming album, as well as super high
quality audio files of the tracks from our "Fear Like Young" EP for
you to steel. Seeing as the EP is sold out and will never see a re-press, we
thought we might as well give the music away! Go on, take the food from our
mouth's.. We've also thrown up a bunch of new images in the gallery
from our recording and touring run last year through Chicago & L.A. Check
out the wintery goodness.
We'd like to give a friggin big high five to the folks of
